Tall Trees Rendezvous
The 31st Annual Jed Smith Mountain Men Rendezvous continues today through July 4th and is held at the Del Norte Rod and Gun Club on Rowdy Creek Road in Smith River. All are welcome to come and visit the primitive camping area and enjoy the 1840 trader's row. Gates open at 10:00am and close at 4:30pm.

LRT's Annual 4th of July Melodrama
Come to Lighthouse Repertory's Annual 4th of July Melodrama for good, old-fashioned fun. Tonight's show will be at 6:30pm at the United Methodist Church, 664 H Street in Crescent City. Tickets are $5.00. The melodrama will be "THE HUCKLEBERRY PLOT or From Snakes Preserve Us!" and was written by local playright Sherrell L. Davis. The action takes place in the inside of Indiana Joseph's Redwood Mill, Del Norte County California around 1899. For questions call 465-3740.

Annual Chamber Deck Party
Huge town party with live music by the Hog Wild Band, no-host bar, food, and friends! The Deck Party runs from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Cultural Center in Crescent City. Funds raised go to support our city's fireworks show on July 4th. Call 464-3174 for more information.

1st Annual Firecracker One Pitch Tourney
This One Pitch Tourney is for Men's Teams and is sponsored by the Del Norte County Recreation Department. It will be Bracket Play with at least 3 games for each team. Registration deadline is June 26th and costs $100.00. Late registration deadline is July 1st and has a 10% late fee. Play will be at Pyke's Field, 1005 H Street and begins at noon, after the parade. Annual Fourth of July Event
This is a huge town celebration with a parade through downtown starting at 10am. The parade's theme is "Honor the Past, Imagine the Future". There will be food, merchandise, and game booths at Beachfront Park all day following the parade. The KPOD Colgate Country Showdown will be returning and the Blue Rhythm Review band will perform as will the CC Walker band. There will also be a sing along/ jam duet time. One of the biggest fireworks show starts after 9pm. Fireworks are shot over the beautiful Battery Point Lighthouse for an amazing display. Rally for the Cure Ladies Golf Scramble
Del Norte Ladies' Golf Club
presents this fun scramble for ladies of all golfing abilities at the Del Norte Golf Club in Hiouchi. Sponsored by Elk Valley Casino, Lucky 7 Casino and Rumiano Cheese Company, it begins at 12:00 noon with a luncheon. A clinic with Kirk Burrows and Chris Rice begins at 1:00pm and the shotgun start, 4-person team scramble begins at 2:00pm. There is a prize for the Pinkest Player . Registration closes June 26th. The $40 fee includes green fees, cart, lunch, and $20 donation to the Susan G. Komen Fund to help find the cure for breast cancer. Sign-ups are limited to 72 players so sign up soon. 40th Annual Gasquet Raft Races
Registration runs from 10:00 to 11:30 at the Horace Gasquet Bridge. Races begin at noon with a deep-pit BBQ running at the same time. Food will be served at 1:00pm. This annual tradition is hosted by the Gasquet American Legion. For more information call 707-457-3064.

This event will be held on from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the end of Anchor Way on the beach. There will be many activities going on to help the scouts learn what they can do to help protect our environment.

Swing Camp begins today and continues through Friday. Students will learn the basics of East Coast Swing and Foxtrot. Students will be divided into three age groups that meet at different times, 2 hours/day for one week. All will be given the opportunity to perform at the Del Norte County Fair.
