Del Norte County and Crescent City provide an abundance of services to the great variety of people living, and visiting this area.

Through literature produced by the Chamber, you can learn of our community and enjoy your visit to the fullest. The Visitor Center, located in the Crescent City Cultural Center, operates from 9 to 6 Monday through Friday (seven days a week during the summer months) providing maps, exploring guides, economic data and literature on local businesses. The Chamber office provides an open door to our community.

Encouraging and assisting new businesses becoming established in Del Norte County is of major concern to the Chamber. The Chamber provides statistics, demographics and assistance in locating agencies that could be of assistance in the creation of new businesses, and employment opportunities for Del Norte County to strengthen our economy.

Del Norte County Unified School District serves approximately 4,000 students in the four elementary schools, four K-8 schools, one high school, and one continuation school. A variety of programs have been designed for the district to become "the best in the nation." A branch campus of the College of the Redwoods is located in Crescent City. The college provides two-year programs in many career fields. A county library is located at Second and "K" Streets, providing research and booklending services.

Social services in the county are available for housing, food, energy assistance, senior service, handicapped persons, developmental services, victim abuse programs, alcohol and drug recovery and employment training.

Crescent City has Sutter Coast Hospital, a 73 bed general hospital with emergency services, a convalescent hospital, two rest homes and numerous physicians practicing in specialized and general medicine.

Del Norte Count Senior Center has many programs to meet the needs of the older population. These programs cover such areas as nutrition, senior activities, information and referral, elder assessment, weatherization, Energy Crisis Intervention program, Job Training, Legal Aid, and Adult Day Care.

The Del Norte Child Care Council has many options for those in need of child care. A day care home and center referral service, toy lending library and parenting assistance programs are available in Crescent City.
